Want to create xml sitemap for wordpress website having problem

Hello everyone

I am new here and don't know so much about coading. I am working on a wordpress website and having problem with creating xml sitemap for it. I am using yoast seo plugin, the sitemap I created with this is now showing 404 error page how to fix it.

Try clearing wordpress and browser cache and refreshing page (probably will not help)

Or find discussion/forum about that wordpress plugin and ask there

Or contact developer and describe the issue if you are sure it is plugin issue

May be you are getting this error because you were not create sitemap properly.
As its an old post then may be your problem get resolved but there are several other new users are who also can face this problem.

To resolve this issue first you have to create sitemap properly in your Wordpress . You can follow below steps:

Step 1: Download and install Yoast SEO. After installation, click on the option “SEO” and then go for the General page.

Step 2: On the general page, you can see three tabs such as dashboard, features, and webmaster tool. Select the tab “Feature” to turn on the XML sitemap option.

Step 3: Now, the XML sitemap is on. For cross-check tap on the question mark to see the sitemap created by Yoast SEO.

Step 4: By now, it will show you the sitemap which is available on your website just by adding sitemap_index.xml

For example: If the website link is www.domain.com then for verifying sitemap type as www.domain.com/sitemap_index.xml
