How to add utm source to an link so i can track number of visitors comming?

Hello,

i found some people adding "?utm_source=XYXY" after their banner links or other links. I assume it has to do with Google analytics visitor tracking, so I want to ask how i can use it to track number of visitors who clicked that link? Thank you

According to above article, when i add link to external website, it can be like:

&utm_campaign= IS NOT REQUIRED URL PARAMETER

I dont know why you would go into all this. Google analytics offers a very user friendly guide even adwords does in which you can set your own conditions for tracing it supplies you with javascript that will report back any triggered event to your analytics database. You paste it , they verify it and you are done.
