What Is Webkit In CSS3? And Why Is It Used?

Webkit is a web browser rendering engine used by Safari and Chrome. There are other similar rendering engines like Gecko for Mozilla, Presto for Opera, and Edge for IE.
To enable Webkit on a web page, it requires prefixing the <-webkit> keyword with CSS values.
