Remnant traffic is a problem for online publishers because it’s traffic that they are typically unable to monetize.
Remnant traffic is usually incorrectly referred to as the ad impressions which have not been directly sold to an advertiser and must therefore be monetized in some other ways.

Remnant traffic – also called residual traffic – is any and all traffic that is coming from a traffic source you did not intent to use for the promotion of your campaign.

Remnant traffic is commonly misunderstood as ad impressions that have not been sold directly to an advertiser and must be monetized in some other way.
It is, nevertheless, the right phrase for All traffic that is not monetized for whatever reason.
