I would like to know that What is the benefits of Directory submission ?

Getting backlink which can help to increase site value (-> better position in google), but at same time too heavy and artificial linkbuilding can be worse that no linkbuilding i think. Link in well known/high visit directories may bring also some traffic to the site.
