I want to Know that Which is better Robots.txt or Meta Robots Tag?

In Google Webmaster Tools, im usually reminded by Google that i do not have robots file. So i think this robots.txt is important to be there and personally i would not care about meta tags.

I think If you are using both then It is good. Personally i am using. But robots txt file is important.

Robots.txt is most preferred option.

Using robots.txt is better compared to using robots meta tag.Because by using robots.txt we are providing the instructions to robots for all the pages of web site.It consumes very less time compared to using robots tag which we have to mention separately for all the pages,which is very time consuming and quite confusing.So usage of robots.txt is better.

Robots.txt is better as the instructions included in that file can be used for entire site and not only to single web page.

Robots.txt tag is far better. In this you can block the whole directory path at once.
