unique visitor is one that do not visit your site frequently, maybe someone who never visitted your site.

Usually people are interested how many visits your webpage has daily. Unique visits is that you count one person/one IP only once per day even if it visited your webpage multiple times per day.

In my opinion, i would be careful not to post on guest posting sites that are full of low quality advertising articles. I think these are close to penalization because they are like a "link farm".

google this and from what you find, exclude all methods that involve bulk adding (in rapid succession) links to various sites or adding links to sites aimed as a link farms (low quality blogs). Your content must be good enough to catch the visitor attention for the longest time possible and make the visitor comment and share on social networks (provide social buttons), send e-mail to friend elements.
