Or set the duplicate content page as "noindex" and hyperlinks to attribute "nofollow"?

Duplicate content can often arise without our knowledge, despite our best efforts to prevent it.

I think if you have used original content in your website post, after few days someone also shared your content in his own website without describing original source. Than google always prefer your page in this respect because you have published content few days before instead of those who have copied your content. Anyways, if you want to find the websites which used your content than you can take help from these tools. Copyscape and Siteliner.

Just a funny thought but, we will know when we have duplicate content when page rank keeps going down non-stop - that is when we know something is wrong (provided that if we are confident in our content).
