Tor Browser Bundle on the CentOS. How to install it? I succeeded
Copied download link of the .xz file from https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html.en#linux
I had CentOS 6.8 64bit so in my case it was: https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/6.0.2/tor-browser-linux64-6.0.2_en-US.tar.xz
TorBrowser bundle complained it cant run from root.
So i created new user:
useradd myname
passwd myname
then i logged off the root session (su - myname not made browser to launch, it printed out:
Launching './Browser/start-tor-browser --detach --verbose'...
No protocol specified
Error: cannot open display: :0.0)
so from non-root user i downloaded and extracted browser bundle:
wget https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/6.0.2/tor-browser-linux64-6.0.2_en-US.tar.xz -qO - | tar xJ;rm *.tar.xz;cd tor*;ls -l
then i launch:
./start-tor-browser.desktop
worked.
