Hello, please what are ways for hacker to install rootkit on Linux server housed in professional datacenter?
Assuming server has SSH password access with config server firewall set to ban IPs doing bruteforce password attack on SSH port. Default settings

How to prevent rootkit installation, quotations:
"best way to prevent rootkits is by practicing smart security, for example, firewalls, good passwords, checking permissions etc."

Hello

If your root access is secure enough you need to be sure that your server kernel and software are free from known vulnerabilities, and so on.
Where is your server located is much more about redundant and stable power, network connection and physical access restriction.

Only because your server is hosting at 'professional datacenter' didn't make it secure by default!
