How to determine of some website was "deindexed" / penalized by Google?

What are ways to discover it?

I found this instruction. Go to Google and search for: site:"yourdomain.tld"

If Google find some of your sub pages, it does NOT mean your site is OK. It can still mean it is somehow penalized by Google (https://internetlifeforum.com/seo-search-engine-optimisation/4028-how-stop-being-penalised-google-serp/).

You can also check in Google webmaster tools is website is deindex by Google than received a alert massage. Otherwise search in Google site: domain name if don’t have search pages than it may be penalize.
