You have domain with Godaddy.com

And you want to point this domain to different hosting server (in another words, change its nameservers).

But when you select Custom nameservers option and enter nameserver, you get error: "You must enter a registered nameserver."

How to solve/fix it?

1. login to your Godaddy account.
2. navigate to domains/yourdomain
3. find "Host Names" and click on "Manage"
4. add your host name (ns1,ns2) and IP address
5. save

Hostnames section:

ns1.mydomain.com - 1.2.3.4 (This is wrong)
ns1 - 1.2.3.4 (This is right)

Once You set "Host Names" as mentioned above do this:

1. login to your Godaddy account.
2. navigate to domains/yourdomain
3. find "Nameservers" and click on "Manage"
4. select "Custom" and enter your full custom nameservers, example:
ns1.yourdomain.info
ns2.yourdomain.info
5. save
