If php.ini, php7.ini or similar does not work on a DirectAdmin hosting, add file ".user.ini" into the website root directory (usually public_html or domains/yourdomain/).
Btw. disable_functions does not seem to have any effect when defined as a user (not under admin master .ini file). https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77769081/how-to-append-disable-funtions-in-user-ini
