Wordpress plugin folder removal/delete also removes database items of this plugin?

I guess that the Wordpress plugins stores its data in the database and when i remove plugin by deleting its folder (without deactivation via website) it may leave some data in the database?
Or is Wordpress cleaning up the database data when it reports the plugin deactivation as as a result of a missing folder?
