How to cut and merge videos with external subtitles (.srt) using LosslessCut (http://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut) and MKVToolNix (https://mkvtoolnix.download/)

LosslessCut says it does not support cutting video with external subtitle track (that i have drag & drop after the video file).

WORKAROUND:

1) creating new video file (without slow re-encoding) which will contain subtitles from the external subtitle file in itself (so ext. subs file will no longer be needed and the Lossless cut should be able to work with subtitles included in the file)

In your file manager, select source video file (that you want to cut into segments) and the subtitle file. Mouse drag & drop the two files into the MKVToolNix.
It will prompt what to do. Select "Create new multiplex settings and add to those".
Now i have re-ordered the subtitle track in the "Tracks, chapters and tags" section of the MKVToolNix, it may be useless to do. I have also set correct language for the ext. subtitle track by clicking the subtitle track and then cliking "Language" in the "Properties" section on the right. Now on the bottom is the "Destination file" section - select where it will save the new video, which will contain external subtitles. Click the "Start multiplexing" button.

2) take remultiplexed file from the first step and add it into a LosslessCut and cut as you are used to.

In your file manager, drag the resulting video file that the MKVToolNix produced and drop it into the latest LosslessCut.
Select segments to cut and export. In my case resulting files contained all intended subtitles and i have also been able to merge such files and there have been no issue (in my case i have tried exact and key frames cut where exact cut occasionally produced bad transition between cuts).
