In India, theft of correspondence of experienced webmasters is very common, which covers email, smses, phone calls, postal mail, making it very difficult to earn a living, in a very crude attempt at identity theft. Writing to the human rights commission of the country does not help. Are these problems common in other countries also ?

Thieves are everywhere, though i dont know if its worse in India as i did not lived there.. Try to change company or try to do business on Your own. Electronic mail is quite secure thing, unless you are required to use company email address. Use google webmail for example or other webmail accessible via https:// (encrypted)
