The formula is straightforward: Divide the number of times a keyword is used on your page by the total number of words on the page. Here's an easy example: Your page has 1,000 words and your keyword is used 10 times. This gives: 10 / 1000 = .001

Keyword density is also known as keyword frequency.

Keyword density shows the total number of times the keyword appears on a webpage as per the total word count.
The keyword density formula is quite simple.
Divide the number of keywords used on a page by the total number of keywords.
For example, your webpage has 5000 words, and your keyword is used 20 times. Then the formula will be as simple as that.
Just 20/5000 = 0.004
Now, multiply this by 100 to get the exact percentage.

What is the formula for calculating keyword density?
It is simple to figure out: Divide the number of times a keyword appears on your page by the total number of words on the page.
The following is an example with a 1,000-word page and a keyword used ten times. We get:
10 / 1000 = .001
By multiplying this by 100, we get 1% in this case.
