Accidental failure

Hi everyone I live in Vancouver, yesterday my cats broke the blinds while playing. What should I do in this situation? Is it worth buying new blinds or leaving the windows uncovered by putting a houseplant on the window?

It's a familiar situation, I had it exactly the other way around. I had houseplants on my bedside table and the cats keen on chasing sun bunnies knocked the flowers off the bedside table. After that, I nailed the shelves down and now the plants are growing peacefully on the wall. I decided to put blinds on the windows, though I had to look around a lot. My first thought was to buy standard blinds, but after I saw the quality I changed my mind. I'm from Vancouver, too, by the way.
