Sylpheed e-mail client complains when trying to connect Gmail server:
534-5.7.9 Application-specific password required.
that error was removed when i disabled 2FA - 2 factor authentication at https://myaccount.google.com/security
error that appeared instead was: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted.
then on https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps i enabled less secure apps access (was https://g.co/allowaccess needed?)
and then connection with the server worked!
