I have been using this exchange numerous years, i think it is reliable exchange for Bitcoin and bank transfers. I have withdrawn $xxxx amounts from there.
But recently in early 2020 they failed to notify me about the fact that they enforce 2factor authentication so i was unable to login because of no master key.
And i had to waste maybe 2 hours of my time and also nerves making photos of myself holding hand writen paper and signed + identity document. A bit humiliating for me. Support staff (William) complained also about it being not sharp enough (nonsense) and they also refuse to remove my photos due to anti-fraud.
They store it 5 years after my account is closed. It is retained for audit, compliance, legal, and regulatory reasons (such as the EU 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive), as well as to combat against fraud and other suspicious activities that may be attempted withKraken service. This is in compliance with Article 17 (3)(b) of the GDPR (https://www.gdpr.org/regulation/article-17.html).
I do not like this.
I asked which data (for verification) they will need to delete my data. I was told i should check and save my Public account ID which can be found here: https://www.kraken.com/u/settings/account
How do i ensure all data about me are deleted from their system after 5 years?
