View Full Version : CPU frequency lower than advertised - /proc/cpuinfo

Issue:

/proc/cpuinfo says I'm running "AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 3280" at 1400 MHz. You advertised this server at 2400 MHz. Are you underclocking it, or am I getting bad info?

Answer:
this is probably default "power saving" CPU function on Ubuntu OS when Your CPU is not maxed out.
