I agree with Calvin - long and short keywords work. You have to take advantage of both.

Although long tail keywords have a higher conversion rate, both long tail and short tail keywords work in collaboration with each other for the purpose of attracting traffic.

Short tail keywords are good, and should be on priority as they are hardest to get ranked on. Once you have your website on short keywords ranked on first page then you can go for long tail keywords.
